The Cove

Dolphins are dying, whales are disappearing, and the oceans are growing sick. Every year 2,500 dolphins are slaughtered in Taiji, Japan alone. This horrific secret has been kept under wraps for far to long.

Quiksilver Foundation, along with SaveJapanDolphins.org recently held a special event for the award-winning film “The Cove” at Quiksilver’s Headquarters in Huntington Beach.

The exclusive advanced screening of the “The Cove” was a huge success followed by a intimate Q&A with the film’s leading star, activist and former trainer to “Flipper” – Ric O’Barry. Now having devoted his life to saving dolphins in the wild, Ric shared some personal thoughts on the cause as well as ways that we can take action and make a difference.

“The Cove” received the coveted Audience Award and the Official Selection Award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and was most recently shown at Cannes to a packed house. The film will be released in theaters nationwide July 31st. Check out the trailer at www.thecovemovie.com
